Why is eWaste so bad?

Most items that are dumped into landfill contain wood, plastics, fabric, rubber, steel and others.

As an example, a couch contains the following:

1. Wood
2. Foam
3. Steel
4. Rubber
5. Vinyl

Electronic waste can contain a wide variety of metals such as Steel, aluminium, lead, copper, gold and others that a harmful if it enters landfill as these leach into the water table creating a poisonous environment.
